The art of storytellingEveryone can benefit from learning storytelling skills. Whether you are a public presenter or a parent, whether you are a professional or a just a person looking for a creative, fun, accessible art form, this enjoyable and highly engaging course is for you.

You will learn:

  • to understand and use your own natural story skills
  • ways of developing new skills
  • what the skills of a good storyteller are
  • how to tell tall tales and improvise fun narratives
  • skills of developing, elaborating and changing story plots creatively
  • at least 5 x flexible story patterns to tell in your own way
  • how stories communicate and improve all communication
  • the central importance and effectiveness of metaphor
  • how to use verbal and non-verbal language in storytelling
  • how to develop storytelling confidence
  • how to develop a repertoire of stories

WorkshopCourse availability:  

  • Courses for small groups take place regularly in Tonbridge, Kent. Cost is kept low and participants have travelled from all over the UK to take part. Please let us know if you would like to add your name to the waiting list for a course and we will liaise with you to agree a date that works for you.
  • Public courses for larger groups are arranged from time to time at various locations in the UK. Details are announced in the upcoming events panel of this website. For early notice of course dates, please contact us, giving an idea of approximate locations and times that work for you.
  • In-house training.  Workshops can also be arranged to suit the needs of all kinds of client groups, from educationalists, change specialists, medical staff and heritage workers  to businesses etc. Charges are flexible and can often be adjusted to meet the needs of smaller groups with limited funds. Longer courses can be arranged over two to five days, combining material from other workshops and tailor made to suit requirements.
